Halton Police Seek Suspect After BMO Branch Robbery on Brant Street

Halton Regional Police are searching for a male suspect who robbed the BMO branch at 519 Brant St. in Burlington on Wednesday, August 20, making off with cash and coin after jumping the counter. No weapons were used and no injuries were reported.

Halton Regional Police are looking for a male suspect following a robbery at the Bank of Montreal on Brant Street in Burlington on Wednesday, August 20. According to police, the incident happened at approximately 5:40 p.m. at the BMO branch located at 519 Brant St. A lone male entered the bank, jumped the counter, and grabbed rolls of coin and cash from accessible drawers before fleeing through a rear exit into a dark-coloured sedan. BMO staff and at least one customer were inside the branch at the time. Police confirmed no weapons were seen or indicated, and no one was physically injured. Investigators are asking anyone with information — including security camera or dash cam footage from the area around 5:40 p.m. on August 20 — to contact the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
