Five Things Worth Doing in Burlington This Weekend
Burlington's weekend is loaded — a rooftop concert with Mo Guzman at Joseph Brant Museum, a two-day Latin Festival with 70+ vendors, a free kids' art workshop, and a volunteer fair. Summer's fading fast, so make the most of it.

Summer is winding down, and Burlington is packing in some seriously fun ways to spend a Saturday and Sunday. From rooftop concerts to family art workshops, there's genuinely something for everyone across the city this weekend of August 22 and 23.
Up on the Rooftop Terrace at Joseph Brant Museum, musician Mo Guzman takes the stage on Friday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. for an evening of live music with one of the best views of Burlington's downtown waterfront you'll find anywhere. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. so you can wander through the galleries first — including the current special exhibition, "eat make share: a taste of immigration." Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students, and that covers both the performance and museum admission. Snacks and beverages are available in the gift shop. This one is for ages 12 and up.
A Latin Festival rolls into town this Saturday and Sunday, bringing 22 performers to the stage and more than 70 vendors to the park. Dance lessons, showcases, and family-friendly activities are scheduled throughout both days — a great way to close out summer with some colour and rhythm.
If you've got kids who love to draw and paint, the Burlington Art and Culture Council is running a free Paint-by-Numbers workshop as part of their Kid Art Workshop Series. Local artist Hope Flynn is leading participants ages 6 to 13 through a Burlington-inspired piece featuring local landscapes and wildlife. A pretty wonderful way to spend a weekend morning.
And if you've been meaning to give back to the community, a volunteer fair co-hosted by Volunteer Halton, the City of Burlington, and Open Doors is your chance to connect with more than 30 local organizations and find the right fit for your time and skills.
